Build and update a Volunteer Event schedule

Manage Event days, time blocks, individual shifts, and capacity.

Build the initial schedule

During Event creation, add one or more dates and time blocks. Choose a shift duration and default capacity, then review generated shifts. You can remove a proposed shift or change its capacity before creating the draft.

Update the schedule after creation

After creation, open Schedule to:

  1. Add a time block that generates shifts.
  2. Add an individual shift without changing a time block.
  3. Edit a shift’s date, time, or capacity.
  4. Duplicate one scheduled day to another date.
  5. Remove an eligible shift or time block.

What Duplicate Day copies

Duplicate Day copies the scheduled structure and its non-cancelled shifts. Cancelled shifts and Volunteer registrations or assignments are not copied.

Capacity and history safeguards

Capacity cannot be reduced below existing active registrations. Removing scheduled work with assignments may require cancellation and preserves history.
